DIRECTORS OF THE ITFC BOARD
Chairman - David Sheepshanks
David Sheepshanks has been an avid supporter of the Club since he was 12 and is a member of the Saxmundham branch of the Supporters Club. With a business background in the food industry, David established and became the majority shareholder of Suffolk Foods Ltd, a major manufacturer of mayonnaise and sauces. In January 1997 he was elected Chairman of the Football League with a mandate to drive a reorganisation and modernising process for the League which he undertook in two years. Between 1997-2000 and since 2003 he has represented the League on the main Football Associated Board and on the FA International Committee. David also chairs the Ipswich Town Community Trust Board and The Suffolk Foundation, alongside many other charitable interests. He is a Deputy Lieutenant of Suffolk (2005) and was given an honourary Doctorate from The University of East Anglia for services to the community (2004). David is also Chairman of Alexander Ross (an international sports consultancy) and Environmental Biotech (an eco-friendly drainage specialist).
Chief Executive - Derek Bowden
Derek Bowden joined the football club in December 2002. Prior to this Derek had a highly successful career in media and marketing. Derek began his career in advertising sales working with Westminster Press before moving to the advertising agency media business. He worked for two agencies, Martseller and Doyle Dane Bernbach, before joining Saatchi & Saatchi in 1982. He held a number of positions in this 19 years there, including Media Director for the UK Agency, Worldwide Media Director, and Chief Executive Officer, Europe, Middle East and Africa. He sat on the Worldwide Board for 9 years. During 2007, Derek was appointed a non-executive Director of Ipswich Building Society.
Board Member - Kevin Beeston
Kevin Beeston was appointed Executive Chairman of Serco Group plc in May 2002, having previously served as the group's Finance Director and Chief Executive. He has announced his intention to move to Non-executive Chairman of Serco in September 2007.
A qualified accountant, Kevin joined Serco in 1985. Since then the company has developed from a small UK technical business to become an innovative FTSE 250 international service company, which combines commercial know-how with a deep public service ethos. Today, Serco employs 50,000 people and has annual revenues of £2.5bn. For the past 2 years Serco has been named by Management Today as the most admired FTSE 250 company and the most admired Support Services company. Kevin is a member of the CBI President's Committee and Chairman of the CBI's Public Services Strategy Board, which promotes the role business has in transforming the UK's public services. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Companions of the Chartered Management Institute and holds non-executive director positions on the boards of IMI plc and Ipswich Town Football Club plc.
He is married to Jayne and they live in Surrey with their three children, two dogs and a cat.
Board Member - Martin Pitcher
Martin Pitcher has joined the Ipswich Town plc and the ITFC Boards. He qualified as a chartered accountant at Price Waterhouse in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and subsequently worked in their offices in London and New York in both the audit and transaction divisions. He joined the Marcus Evans Group three years ago and is director of corporate development, responsible for new business start-ups and acquisitions.
Board Member - Ian Milne
Ian Milne has joined the ITFC board and is a qualified solicitor. He gained wide international commercial legal experience with Diageo and then at Revlon International prior to joining the Marcus Evans Group as group general counsel in 2000.
Board Member - Jonathan Symonds
Jonathan Symonds has joined the ITFC Board. He has been chief information officer of the Marcus Evans Group since 1996, responsible for the strategy and delivery of IT solutions globally for the group. After graduating with a degree in business information systems he held roles in IT management at Apple Computers, Bacon and Woodrow and Global Communications.
