Jordan Rhodes scored the only goal of the game as the reserves maintained a 100 per cent record in the League this season.
The teenage striker scored with a left foot finish after showing good strength to hold off his marker just past the quarter hour.
Rhodes would have grabbed a hat-trick on another day but failed to beat Cobblers' 'keeper Chris Dunn with two other chances.
Gavin Williams played the first hour at the Training Ground, while Sylvain Legwinski, Sito and Fabian Wilnis came through the full game.

Liam Trotter impressed for Blues as did Kurt Robinson, who came on as a second-half substitute.
