TOWN 3 NORWICH 0
Goals from Danny Haynes, Dean Bowditch and Liam Trotter gave Town a comfortable win at Portman Road.
Haynes finished off a solo run on 34 minutes to give Blues the lead with his mandatory goal against the Canaries.
Bowditch doubled the advantage with 12 minutes left after Jaime Peters had set him up from the left and Trotter completed the scoring from close range soon after.
Town could have been in front before Haynes' opener, the striker firing over the bar from a good position after excellent work by Gary Roberts, Bowditch then denied inside the Canaries' box.
Norwich rarely threatened but should have been in front on the half hour. Richard Naylor, continuing his comeback from a summer foot operation with a solid 90 minutes, was harshly judged to have fouled Chris Martin inside the box.
Bam Bam collected a yellow card for the offence but Chris Brown's spot-kick was well saved by Andy Plummer.
Norwich 'keeper Matt Gilkes made a number of good saves as Town threatened throughout and substitutes Curtley Williams and Jack Ainsley were both denied in the last seconds.
Polish triallist Marcin Adamski partnered Naylor in the heart of the Town defence and was rarely tested, making an early clearance from Martin.
