Republic of Ireland international Nick Colgan joined Town on a short term contract until the end of the season just an hour before the transfer window closed.

The 34-year-old 'keeper, who has won nine caps for the Irish, started his League career at Chelsea after joining them for Drogheda in 1992 and remained at Stamford Bridge for six years, playing one League game for the club in that time as well as having loan spells at Grimsby, Millwall, Brentford and Reading. He moved to Bournemouth in 1998 then headed to the Scottish Premier League with Hibs a year later, making 121 appearances over four years. Another loan spell followed at Stockport in 2003/04 before he joined Barnsley in June 2004. The Drogheda born 'keeper played in 113 games for the Tykes, having a loan spell back in Scotland with Dundee United during that time, but comes to Town as a free agent after settling his contract at Oakwell.
