Jim Magilton has challenged his players to burst Barnsley's FA Cup bubble when Town take on the Tykes tonight.

Simon Davey's side have been the talk of football since their Quarter-Final win over Chelsea on Saturday, following on from their victory at Liverpool in the Fifth Round.

Oakwell is likely to be packed tonight with those at the game getting ticket priority for Barnsley's FA Cup Semi-Final clash with Cardiff at Wembley and Jim reckons the triumphant Yorkshiremen could be affected in different ways by their cup heroics.

"It was a wonderful result for Barnsley and what's more they deserved it," Jim told Ipswich World.

"To win at Liverpool was outstanding but to then beat Chelsea is a fantastic achievement and they deserve their day out at Wembley - and maybe two days out.

"They will be on a high going into tonight's match and Ipswich Town won't be intimidating for them after Chelsea but that can work two ways.

"It's only human nature for them to have been distracted by the FA Cup and we have to make sure we turn it to our advantage if that is still the case. They are riding a wave and we have to bring them down.

"We have to start quickly and impose ourselves on the play and build a platform to move on.

"It won't be easy. They were very well organised when they came to our place. Very solid and deserved the draw."

Town are three points adrift of the Play-Off places with a game in hand of Charlton, who hold down a top six berth while Barnsley are only four points above the drop zone.

A win would end a run of two draws and a defeat for Blues and Jim wants his players to show mental strength now as well as quality on the ball.

"There has been some negativity about the place after the draw against Sheffield United and the criticism has hurt the players," he says.

"The fact that Sheffield United had million pound players on their bench let alone in their side and were in the Premier League last season shows how far we have come, what the expectancy is at this Club now.

"We've got to be strong and combat that. Deal with it. The mental side of the game is massive, especially when it is so tight between so many clubs and the prize is so great.

"My players have to show the desire and the mental aptitude to come through it."

Sito is out of the game after turning his ankle while playing for the reserves in a friendly against Colorado Rapids last week.

Sylvain Legwinski and Jordan Rhodes, a Barnsley fan when he was growing up, are included in the squad that has travelled north.

Barnsley have former Town loanee Jon Macken and Welsh international Lewin Nyatanga back in contention after they were cup-tied at the weekend.

Subscribers to Ipswich World can watch an extended preview of the game in today's Town TV News, including Simon Milton's memories of a classic encounter at Oakwell. Live commentary of the game is also available, kick-off 7.45pm. Town will be in blue.
