Sylvain Legwinski has told the Club website that he may retire from football after coming to the end of his contract at Portman Road.

The 34-year-old midfielder was given a guard of honour, along with Jason De Vos and Fabian Wilnis, by his Blues' team-mates following Town's win over Hull on the last day of the Championship season.

Sylvain was Players' Player and Supporters' Player of the Year in 2006/07 but made only nine starts last term and didn't feature in the last three months of the campaign.

He suffered with a metatarsal injury at the end of the 2006/07 season which saw him miss the start of the build up for 2007/08.

"I have to speak to a few people before I make a decision on my future," Sylvain told the Club website.

"There may be one or two clubs that might be interested or it maybe that it is the right time for me to retire from football.

"I enjoyed my time at Ipswich very much. It was a good move for me to join the Club and being voted player of the year was very special.

"The second season was not so good but that is football. The injury I had put me back a bit and I was always trying to catch up, which is not good at my age!"

Sylvain, who is also considering a return home to France, made 51 appearances for Town, scoring seven goals.
