JASON SCOUTING STATESIDE
Jason De Vos will be using his new role in the media to aid Town's scouting system.
The former Blues skipper, who announced his retirement from football after the 1-0 win over Hull on the last day of the season, starts work for Canadian national TV broadcaster CBC on Thursday after signing a three year contract.
His media work will see him cover Toronto's games in the MLS, with one of his first fixtures being their match against David Beckham's LA Galaxy later this month.
Before heading back home, the former Canada skipper gave a last interview to Ipswich World and revealed that he will still be doing his best for Blues - off the pitch.
"It was a very tough decision to call time on my career because I think I will miss out on promotion next season," says Jason.
"But it felt it was the right time for me to go and it's new challenge ahead of me and one I'm really excited about.
"I'm hoping to carry on doing my bit for the Club as well. I will keep my eyes and ears open on players in the North American continent and if I feel there is someone good enough to play for Ipswich, I will be on the phone to the gaffer straight away."
Subscribers to Ipswich World can watch the full and last interview with Jason in today's Town TV News.
