JIM'S CHALLENGE TO PLAYERS
Jim Magilton has challenged his squad to finish off the job they have started this season by clinching a top six finish.
The Town boss admits he several enquiries to Premier League clubs recently in a bid to bolster his squad that has been hit by injury and suspension lately but with no luck.
And with the transfer loan deadline now passed, it will be down to the players he has at his disposal to take that one step further and finish the campaign in the Play-Offs, a challenge he believes they are up to.
"With Jon Walters and Bam Bam out and Pablo suspended, we have looked at adding another experienced player to the squad for the rest of the season," Jim tells the Club website.
"We made several enquiries to Premier League clubs about players but there is a general reluctance from clubs to let players go - and from players to leave as well.
"The deadline has gone now and we move on and it's now down to the players here to finish the job they started and I have every confidence in them achieving that.
"My players have been fantastic this year. Every time a challenge has been thrown at them they have taken it on. Now the biggest challenge for them is there, to finish in the top six and see where it takes us.
"We are in a terrific position and now we have seven massive games coming up, seven games we are all relishing."
The first of the magnificent seven is against QPR at Portman Road on Saturday with a crowd of over 23,000 expected, with Rangers bringing a big support. Tickets details on the Club website.
