Shane Supple has become the second Town player today to win promotion on the international stage.

Alex Bruce has been added to the senior Republic of Ireland squad for the European Championship qualifier against Wales on Saturday after initially being named in the B squad for a friendly in Scotland.

Now Shane has climbed the international ladder by being called into the Republic of Ireland U21 squad for the European Championship qualifiers against Montenegro on Friday and Bulgaria on Tuesday.

The Dublin-born Town 'keeper has not been capped at U21 level before but was named in the squad for the friendly in Sweden last month before a shoulder injury forced him out.

Billy Clarke is also in the squad for the Bulgaria game while Owen Garvan was named in the party for both matches but has withdrawn from the Montenegro match because of a calf injury.
