Town gained a deserved point at the Walkers Stadium but have injury worries over 'keeper Lewis Price who was forced off in the first-half.
The Welsh U21 international picked up a leg injury as he bravely threw himself at Mark de Vries and despite extensive treatment, limped off the pitch just past the half hour.
Shane Supple, 18, replaced Price in the Town goal, making his debut and impressed throughout the game, saving well from David Connolly and Dion Dublin in particular.
Town boss Joe Royle gave a first start to Jaime Peters, the Canadian international replacing Darren Currie in midfield with Kevin Horlock keeping his place in the middle of the park.
Joey Gudjonsson's 25-yard drive brought the first save of the game from Price on two minutes then stand in central defender Fabian Wilnis did well to halt Connolly as the Foxes striker burst into the box.
Connolly did have the ball in the net on 10 minutes but the Republic of Ireland international was clearly offside.
Richard Naylor sent a glancing header inches wide from a Horlock free-kick while at the other end Connolly brought a save from Price low down as both teams searched for an opener.
De Vries slipped when in front of goal then the big Dutchman collided with Price as he tried to convert Connolly's header, the Welsh international down for two minutes receiving treatment before finally being forced off just past the half hour mark.
Supple was soon in the action, saving comfortably from de Vries before Town had the clearest chance of the opening half. Parkin headed on superbly for Nicky Forster to race in on goal and round Rab Douglas but the Blues' striker could only find the sidenetting from a sharp angle.
Supple was off his line just before the break to smother the danger from Connolly as the first-half drew to a close with the scores blank.
Currie replaced Peters at the break, the 18-year-old struggling to make an impact in the game.
Supple saved from Connolly straight after the re-start as Leicester started brightly but Ian Westlake went close to giving Town the lead, his right foot effort eventually cleared by Alan Maybury as Parkin challenged for the loose ball.
At the other end, Maybury fired just wide then Supple saved superbly from Gareth Williams and Dion Dublin in quick succession as Leicester turned up the heat on the Town goal.
Dean Bowditch replaced Forster in the Town attack to partner Parkin, who picked up the first booking of the game on 70 minutes.
An audacious flick by Westlake from Currie's cross brought Douglas into action and only good work by Paddy McCarthy kept out Bowditch as the England U19 international looked to get on the end of a ball over the Leicester backline.
Substitute Elvin Hammond fired into the sidenetting as the game entered the last 10 minutes, Naylor then robbing Connolly as he tried to strike at goal.
Supple showed his ability again, smothering the danger at the near post from Hammond's cross while Parkin was just inches away from converting Westlake's cross.
Danny Tiatto fired across the goal, Dublin had two half chances to grab a winner and then Hammond couldn't convert inside the box as Leicester finished the stronger but Town held firm to gain a valuable point.
