The Ipswich Town Community Trust played host to a number of Norwegian students recently as they spent a week training at Portman Road.

Below is a report by one of the students,
Lilly Marie, about their time spent with the Club.

It's Thursday, and 20 students aged 17-18 years along with two teachers representing Klosterskogen College and ODD Grenland are visiting Ipswich.

Norway visitors

On day one, we had two trainings lessons with two excellent coaches called Andy Crump and Sean Thacker from Ipswich Town Football Club. The training took place on the Field Turf at Portman Road."It's hard, but very cool training, different from home, something we like," says Even Aasheim and Mohammed Taeib.

They were both impressed by the coaches' performance. It was very effective training with short breaks.

For Stian Parkstad Johansen and Kent Olav Lovgren, day one became a very special experience. Instead of training with the group, they went to play with Ipswich Academy's U18-team.It was challenging playing with the players. They were all very competitive! Stian Parkstad is playing football in ODD Grenlands U19 team; he also trains with the first-team sometimes. Kent Olav plays for Ulefoss FC.

They went to the Academy and both were very impressed by all the fields. Both got to talk to the manager, Jim Magilton and other people who work for the club! After the training session, lunch was eaten next to players from the Academy team and the first-team, such as Gavin Williams, Sylvain Legwinski and Fabian Wilnis.

We all hope to be back next year!
